Iran FM holds phone conversation with E3 counterparts EU foreign policy chief
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a joint phone conversation with the foreign ministers of three European countries and the EU foreign policy chief during which they discussed the latest developments related to the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a joint phone conversation with the foreign ministers of three European countries and the EU foreign policy chief during which they discussed the latest developments related to the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran.  During the conversation, the Iranian foreign minister pointed to the blatant aggression by the Zionist regime against Iran, including attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities, economic infrastructure, military bases, and residential areas. He underlined the duty of every UN member states and the UN Security Council to confront this aggression and stop the Zionist regime’s crimes.  Araghchi described Israel’s attacks on Iran amid negotiations as an unprecedented blow to diplomacy and urged European countries to acknowledge the reality and condemn the Zionist regime’s aggression.  He stressed that Iran’s legitimate self-defense against the aggression will continue robustly, and that the Zionist regime and its supporters and apologists will be responsible for any escalation of the conflict.  Araghchi said there is no doubt Israel, with the backing and cooperation of the US, has launched this war against the Iranian people. He held the US responsible for the situation and described it as an accomplice in the Zionist regime’s crimes.  Araghchi also underlined Iran’s seriousness in diplomacy, noting that the Islamic Republic has never walked away from the negotiating table, but that currently its focus is on effective and deterrent confrontation with the aggression. The European troika and the EU foreign policy chief expressed regret over the current situation and offered condolences over civilian casualties from the Zionist regime’s attacks. They underscored the importance of diplomacy to reduce tensions and declared readiness to play a role in this regard.
